Hazards of Mining Copper in Lutopan

Copper is released in both natural ways and human activities. If copper is dropped in the soil while mining, it does not break down in pieces, and because of this it can gather in plants and animals found it that area. Copper can also influence the proceedings of different farmlands and forests, depending upon the acidity in the soil and the presence of life in that area. This is why there is little diversity in plants near copper mines and factories using copper.

Negative effects of mining in the environment:
-erosion
-formation of sinkholes
-contamination of nearby resources
-loss of biological diversity
